Astrology Forecasts Thoughts for 2008

Each year as the Fall comes to a close and the chill of Winter approaches, I think
about a forecast for the upcoming year. This upcoming year in the U.S. should be
especially interesting. The presidential election is coming up, and for the first time
ever we have a woman as a front runner, and a very competitive African-American
candidate. Also as a nation we are under a great deal of stress as the horror of
Iraq continues. Although our politicians do not seem too concerned, the issue of
global warming is demanding a tremendous response. Many other serious issues
can be listed that altogether create a very discouraging picture.

However today, unlike past age, there are also resources available that past ages
would not have believed possible. Of course the big question is will mankind
actively make a best effort to fix these issues? I am far from certain that our
government will make the best decisions regarding the environment, Iraq, and
other very grave issues.

With an understanding of the perilous times we are living in it will be interesting to
consider how the nation responds to the influence of the Jupiter - Pluto conjunction
on December 11th 07. This influence should continue well into the following
calendar year.

This conjunction, really should be considered a positive Astrological event.
Consider this date an empowering event associated with good will, potential,
opportunity and resourcefulness. Of course the planets do not represent either
good or ill, however human response can be good, bad and indifferent.
Individually the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction can have great impact. Consult your natal
chart to consider the possibilities. The conjunction will take place at 28 degrees
Sagittarius.

January begins with Mars in retrograde and majority of the planets in the last half
of the zodiac, this suggests a universal need for the human family to focus
attention on planet earth housekeeping. The upcoming political season allows U.S.
citizen's an opportunity to participate in that clean-up process.

On the 27th of January Pluto moves into the sign Capricorn and remains there until
retrograde motion returns Pluto to Sagittarius in June. Pluto will remain in
Sagittarius until direct motion returns it to Capricorn during the presidential election
month, November 2008. Transformation and renewal are complex and demanding
processes. Perhaps by the end of November the nation can experience a sense of
calm regarding plans for the direction of the economy and the collective political
philosophical outlook resulting from the election.

Pluto in Capricorn suggests a new era. Capricorn, practical and down to earth is a
strong image-symbol for this era. This symbol suggests an extended period of time,
an opportunity to realign our thinking and behavior in practical, useful styles. Pluto
is a well of transformative power that can be drawn from, individually and
collectively. Together Pluto and Capricorn suggesting an opportunity. This
opportunity is not however infinite in time.
