    Autobiographical Notes

In everyone’s life there are high points and low points and transitions, births, deaths,
marriages, divorces, graduations, and many other key experiences that can change the
direction in our life’s. I have my list of events and like most I’ve discovered that the harder
lessons often times can remake us as stronger and healthier individuals.

    .

Some years ago, like most people today, I went through the divorce process. I guess for some it
can be a fairly easy event. But for me it was a rather comprehensive experience, “easy” would not
be an appropriate word to describe that process. I intentionally made the choice, and I can honestly
say that, although a good deal of negativity and hurt was involved, it was a necessary action. Now I
share this bit of information, not to debate or discuss that decision, but to “set the stage” for the
information that is to follow.

What I wish for you to understand in fact is that the my life was completely changed. Actually
I realized that the stage was no longer “set” and that I had to make sense of completely
different world. Okay, so the world wasn’t really different, but I was, and my view, perspective
was dramatically altered. This I have realized is not a unique experience. Many adults, you
may relate, go through experiences that alter their perspectives completely. The result of this
over turned cart is that I realized that the philosophical and religious concepts that I believed
in and depended upon did not work. And it is absolutely necessary that every life has some
system of ideas upon which one’s life finds support. Without that “set stage”,
I assure you, one is desperate, confused, frustrated and rudderless.

To be specific my prior life was completely supported by a christian perspective. The
christian fabric of ideas that I lived by, over a period of time I realized, simple did not work.
Christianity, for me, did not have the flexibility to support adult life. I found the ideas
simplistic, and fictitious. For those that can make it work, great, and please realize that this is
my story alone, many Astrologers say they are christians. And perhaps there is a way that I
could “adjust” to that system of ideas, but I actually have found my own peace and prefer the
new “set” that I have staged.

So I found myself questioning and taking a long look at how to live and think about life. This
is intended to be a brief article, but it is necessary to briefly sidetrack this story to mention
that ethics exists outside of religion and most importantly that one can be spiritual without
adopting a formal organization and rigid structure of ideas. Actually I find that christians often
use their faith to justify a life that can be lacking in ethics. However, In my own time I came to
learn and earn my own private ideas regarding spiritual things. Those ideas actually have
over time become quite complex, and they are so closely tied to my own sense of identity
that I hold them very closely and privately. I became a new person, and not meaning to
offend those of christian faith, I must say, I was born again.

This bring us to Astrology, and my ever growing interest in this area of study. To be honest I
am not sure I can even adequately share the value I find in this subject. Perhaps metaphors
will help. Like glue Astrology holds together many ideas. Please understand that when I
speak of Astrology I am referring to modern Astrology that depicts human interaction in
psychological terms. Astrology suggests and defines holistic patterns of behavior having
subtle tones and colors. As a tool for self-understanding and meaningful direction Astrology
can generate elegant and direct suggestions unavailable with orthodox psychology. The
predictability of human nature can be artfully captured in the myriad measurement
techniques of Astrology. That predictability suggests an order in the universe, I suppose I
need to sense that order, on some level, exists.

I can not really tell you how Astrology works, but I can not explain the nature and mechanics
of light waves either. But just as the electrical system in the house seems to work without fail,
the systemic nature and practice of Astrology is equally operational. Its proof is found in its
daily usefulness. Of course there is a system or applied method that I employ. That system
being contemporary and pragmatic. (Please note that my web site is full of useful
information, but it does not detail the nature of the system that I use.) And of course my
feeling is that if you can use the findings of Astrology for your own gain, than that is sufficient
for acceptance. Or if the medicine works, keep taking it!

Above all Astrology offers each individual a personal portrait, created within the confines of
natural order. Clearly it suggests that we are a part of nature, the greater universe, that our
time and potential are unique reflections of the natural events and circumstances captured
at the time of birth. The stars of our birth, like guiding lights, forever provoking new
possibilities. Those lights are points of meditation ever available to reveal new creative levels
of being. Allowing us to recreate our image through redirection and conscious decisions. In
some small way being apart of natures creation process.
